Knowledge of computer systems, general accounting practices, excel and word programs, general office skills, and typing skills. Must possess excellent math skills, and communication skills. Experience in payroll and accounts payable preferred.

Minimum Requirements: High School graduate or GED equivalency, and work experience closely related to the duties and responsibilities of the job.

                                                ESMERALDA COUNTY ROAD & SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT


The Road & Solid Waste Department Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing all road department equipment: vehicles, trucks, machinery, shop equipment, and facilities. The successful applicant must be able to perform infield repairs, diagnose problems, and have considerable background in all phases of mechanics.

Applicants should have experience operating a variety of equipment such as motor graders, loaders, backhoes, dozers, snowplows, and sweepers.

The successful applicant will also be expected to fill in as an equipment operator in the various districts of Esmeralda County as needed and specified by the Road Department Supervisor.

The successful applicants will also be expected to fill in and perform normal operations of the Esmeralda County Solid Waste Department, such as driving roll-off trucks, application of daily cover, record keeping, and day to day clean up at all county drop-off facilities.

A Class A or B CDL license is required but, if necessary, will consider other qualified applicants who have the ability to acquire a CDL within 2 months of hire.

The successful applicant will be susceptible to drug testing, as per Esmeralda County personnel policy.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

The successful applicant must be a resident of Esmeralda County or be willing to relocate within 30 days of the hire date.

This position will be 40 hours per week and workdays will be Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, starting wage $13.66 per hour. Actual pay may be higher depending on experience.

 Senior Transportation Bus Driver and/or Driver
Department:  Senior Transportation
Responsible to:  Senior Transportation Director/Administrative Clerk
Classification:  Non Exempt, part-time
Rate of Pay:  $13.35 per hour
Part-time 10 – 15 hours a week
The Senior Transportation department is seeking a skilled individual in the transportation field to fill the position of Senior Bus Driver and/or Driver.   The Driver performs a full range of transit-related duties including driving a busload of seniors to Tonopah for groceries, banking, hardware, Social Security, etc., assisting seniors with groceries, on/off the bus, with oxygen, etc., and other duties related to seniors. Exercises direct supervision of the bus including enforcing rules & policies. The position requires pre/post-inspection, cleaning, submitting daily trip logs and lockbox, and fueling.  A non-bus Driver would have similar duties and taking an individual or two to long-distance destinations such as Las Vegas, Reno, Pahrump and Bishop, CA and driving a car or van.  
The positions are part-time,  either Tuesday and Thursday for Bus Trips, or could be any day of the week, Monday - Friday.  Long-distance Medical Trips may be up to 12 hours in a day, but maybe as little as 5 hours.    The position pays $13.35 to start with a possible $1.00 raise with a satisfactory evaluation at the end of probation. 
Special Requirements:
Must have a valid Nevada Driver’s License
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Must be friendly. helpful and able to accommodate varying personalities.
